Sleep is so important for both your physical and mental health. As a mum, I know from experience that lack of sleep can not only make you feel exhausted but can make you go a little nuts 😉
Sleep helps your brain function properly which increases learning, aids in problem solving, emotional regulation and coping with change. On the flip-side not enough sleep can affect how well you think, learn, interact with others, make decisions and can make you moody, sad, depressed and unmotivated.
Studies have also shown lack of sleep is linked to all sorts of diseases like, heart, kidney, diabetes and stroke. You need sleep to stay healthy, your immune system relies on it to help you fight infections. (more info on sleep here)
I don’t know any mum that doesn’t wish they had more sleep 🙂 So how do you get a better nights sleep? There are many things that can help with a good nights sleep; going to bed earlier, minimising screen time before bed… but i am going to tell you about a few awesome essential oils you can use to help with sleep. Here are my top 5 favourites when it comes to sleep time. Sometimes I use one, sometimes I combine a few of them. What I do know is that they really have helped to improve our sleep.
